Bar and Board is in a key location for a Saturday. night in Newport., right on the main drag. We had gone to a movie at the Jane Pickens theater and wanted to walk to dinner. Our reservations was for 7:00. When we entered there were many empty tables so we had the staff's full attention. We had a nice table on the ground floor but two seats were leaning against a cold stone wall - it was a windy night and the wall was a bit drafty. We ordered a bottle of wine and a few appetizers - delicious, oysters were okay, Brussel sprouts very good. Main courses were hearty portions, I could have shared. my bolognese with another person, others did share the pork chop. The wait staff was very attentive, the food arrived in a timely manner and the atmosphere kicked up as groups of people arrived - espresso martinis were their drink of choice!!! We would all go back to B&B another time - good food, great service and an okay wine list. Just what we wanted on a chilly, windy night.

We couldn’t get in for dinner (it was booked solid) so popped by for lunch. My wife had the patty melt which was slightly undercooked but delicious, and I had the Mushroom and Swiss burger, which was outstanding. Very tasty, quality ingredients. Glad we still got to dine here, highly recommended.

We were excited to dine at the White Horse Tavern based on their past reviews. The food and service exceeded our high expectations. Every item was fresh and presented perfectly. The taste and texture of the greens and Caesar salad was excellent. The scallop ad swordfish entrees were top shelf.
