Nothing special, good atmosphere good service good price for the amount of food

Since the beginning years ago, an outstanding restaurant continues to deliver creative Italian cooking and successful ambience...delicious every time. BRAVO!

As an Italian immigrant, I am always looking for good, real Italian food, and most times I leave a restaurant disappointed. But not last night. My wife and I met two friends at Vinotta last night and as always I walked in a bit skeptical, but within minutes I felt differently. We were greeted by the most gracious hostess, our server came right away, told us the specials, pronounced all dishes properly and made some recommendations. The food was OUTSTANDING! The flavors were incredible. I had the “Calamari so good” which was indeed so good..my wife had the shrimp Portofino, which was delicious…our friends had the grilled octopus and they raved about it. We then had lobster ravioli and the Bucatini alla Romana.. Everything was delicious… As we walked out my wife said to me “You have to take me here again for a romantic dinner just the two of us “… Can’t wait to go back. Grazie Dante e Fausto! This was our third time at The Bluebird Bar, our first for a special occasion, a birthday. We ordered mussels as an appetizer, which were absolutely delicious and plentiful. The main course of salmon, which my husband asked to have cooked through was good, but kind of bland. My steak tips were good and came with fries that were exceptional! The curious part came towards the end of our time there. We were well-fed, but might have ordered a dessert, since this was a birthday celebration. The bill came and no dessert menu was offered, nor was any little gesture made in honor of the birthday. The person seating us did give happy birthday wishes verbally, but that was it. Most times we and friends have eaten out to celebrate a birthday, some gesture has been made at other restaurants. We enjoy The Bluebird Bar and will return, but my advice to the restaurant is to pay some kind of tangible attention to someone celebrating a birthday with you.
