Abacá is an airy, atelier-style restaurant with a cool outdoor terrace, whipping up Filipino-Californian cuisine with flair in Fisherman's Wharf. I did so much research online for this trip to San Francisco. Nothing else measured up to the reviews I found. Scoma's, on the other hand, surpassed everything I had read before eating there. Service was more personable than expected, food was great. Our reservation was honored and we basically walked right in. No wait. Wonderful experience. Wish we would have eaten there every night.

This was my 2nd time dining at Abaca and just like the last the food was phenomenal every dish was packed with flavor. The service is fantastic, very attentive but not intrusive. I noted that the tables nearby were also enjoying their dinner's immensely. Even got to chatting with the table next to ours about how amazing our mutual dinner experiences were. The menu changes seasonally as they try to create there dishes with seasonal local produce as much as possible. The creativity of re imagining traditional Pilipino dishes is extraordinary! For example, they take lumpia to a whole new level. Each bite is a flavor explosion in your mouth. I will be returning for sure!

Had a business conversation. Restaurant was very quiet and lent itself to our being able to chat. Food was surprisingly good considering that it is located in a San Francisco tourist area. Would definitely recommend.
