It was also a third guests birthday. On the drop down menu, we called it a "special occaision" but to get special attention such as what my husband and I have enjoyed for our own anniversary last month, I should have chosen anniversary or birthday. Nonetheless, the service and food were excellent. The booth for five very comfortably seated us for light conversation with a view of the river for four out of five. From time to time some other guests were rather loud, but overall, for most of our meal, the noise level was low enough to converse in inside voices. In December, Salty's offered a reward for buying gift cards. A great way to celebrate V-day with the one I love. Must say, though the prices were slightly elevated, the portions were very satisfying. Each course was presented by the Chef as a private tour of his ancestral country side. it was as if we were magically transported to romantically indulge our palates in the hills (and caves) of rural Italy. The wine pairings were a sublime engagement of our senses, elevating the complex layers of wonderful flavors into a chorus of decadent pleasure. All of us had plenty of food so most of us took half of our meal home but it was delicious warmed up.
