Best Restaurants for Foodies in Japantown

Nopa was a fantastic experience - haven’t been back for a decade and the food and service are as I remembered. Accommodated a seating request and a late guest arrival ; service was friendly and helpful. Food was exceptional. Best porchetta ever tasted; agnolotti was juicy; fried chicken was addicting. Great desserts; good bar experience. Won’t wait so long to return again. Parking is a challenge; take ride share and avoid the stress.

Chef Alex is a great guy, filled with motivation, creativity, and an amazing intuition for mixing flavors, which include fresh and fermented ones. The pairings with wine or sake are precise. The ambiance is just perfect for enjoying the food, a nice chat, and perfect for a date. Finally, the staff is just amazing, the servers are so attentive and even sweet. One of the best sushi experiences I’ve ever had so far. So happy I live in SF to enjoy this mor than once. Now it’s your turn.
