We asked to be seated at a table near the window and were able to watch the sunset. We ordered the early bird specials and both the filet mignon and the macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi were to die for. The service was a little slow, but our waitress was friendly and the food and view made up for it. I would like to note that I let the server know of my gluten allergy and he explained all the options that were available gluten free. When the food was delivered, it was announced that my meal was gluten free twice! It made me feel great that everyone involved was well aware. The surroundings are beautiful and the food is always fresh and delicious. We have been here to Merriman’s in Kapalua several times and the food and service are consistently excellent. Amazing original dishes including the panko ahi roll and shrimp dynamite are musts! Then the scallops which were ok. It we didn’t like the sauce. Finally the fresh fish of the day. Opacapaca. That was amazing. For dessert we had the baked Maui.
