Peacock Alley is one of those places that you forget how much you love! My husband and I went for a late Valentine’s Day date and could not have been more impressed. We sat at the bar to enjoy a couple of drinks and the Brisket Candy appetizer (incredible, btw) until the rest of our party arrived. Our drinks were well made, the bartenders were attentive, and their drink menu has a great variety. I especially enjoyed their mocktail menu! For my entree, I had a beautifully prepared Filet Mignon with Jasmine Rice! We found the price point to be extremely reasonable for the top quality food and service we received. Their GM was helping his staff throughout the night, but he made time to personally visit a few tables, which is always a nice touch! We’ll be back sooner rather than later!

The menu and ratings looked promising, but the experience turned out to be a letdown. Located downtown, we spent a solid amount of time hunting for parking, but once we got inside, it was a charming little spot. We grabbed a table in the back corner with a view of the street, hoping it would make up for the parking hassle. We started with the Volcanic Peach Lemonade, and I’ll give credit where it’s due—it was a solid drink. The right balance of lemonade and peach, it was a refreshing start. Now, the appetizer. We kicked things off with the Brisket Candy. Smoked brisket tossed in North Dakota BBQ sauce should have been a winner, but instead, it was dry, almost inedibly so. The outside was crispy—too crispy, like it had been left on the grill far too long. It was dry to the point that it felt like chewing on sawdust. Then came my French Dip Sandwich—big mistake. I thought the warm au jus would be the perfect comfort food for a chilly evening, but the sandwich came with an overpowering herb flavor (maybe sage?). Every bite made my stomach turn. My husband tried it too and thought the herb made the meat taste spoiled. It desperately needed seasoning, especially salt, and was just bland and uninspired. I barely ate half and didn’t even want to take the leftovers home. The only real win of the meal was the Buffalo Fries. They were hot, crispy, and bursting with flavor, and paired with ranch, they were perfect. If I had known how good they were going to be, I might have just ordered those as my entire meal. My husband's Chipotle Philly Cheesesteak was okay. He didn’t love it, but it was definitely better than my sandwich. It had some flavor, but nothing to write home about. Overall, the food was overpriced for what it was, and honestly, we left feeling underwhelmed. The waitress was polite, but it was a bit unprofessional to overhear her and another staff member chatting politics with a patron for most of our meal.

Really good restaurant, great steaks but a number of options. I had the ribeye earlier in the week and choose chicken piccata that was excellent. Wine list was excellent and price of the wine was less than most restaurants of this caliber. We sat in the dining area but they have a large and very nice bar area at the front of the restaurant. You won’t be disappointed if you eat here.

Lower your expectations. Peacock Alley is advertised as a high-end experience and has a suggested dress code. Entering the presumed main entrance lead into the bar side with no posted direction into the restaurant. The bartender directed us to the host podium where we then waited 5 minutes with several staff passing by us without acknowledging us. When greeted and taken to our table, we quickly identified the dress code was not applicable as several guests were in casual tshirts and ball caps. A table neighboring our own held several cleaning supplies, a personal cell phone, and a half drunk Starbucks and energy drink can. Water served to the table was in blue plastic Pepsi cups and was luke warm with little ice. We ordered from paper menus which specify they are for a specific time period (a waste of materials). The meals received were a decent portion, but brown was the predominant color of all 3 meals. Specifically, the French dip sandwich was dry with very little cheese. The dessert items were tasty, but not enough to improve the rest of the meal. The high price was not equal to the quality of the meal.

Restaurant was not busy so the service was great! our server, not of drinking age, did a great job of recommending beverages. The four of us all ordered various versions of a relatively new menu item-the "bowls"-They were great!
