   Was hot as hell in there. Had 5:00 pm reservation. Felt like a sauna in there until around 6:30 pm. Even the waiters were sweating like crazy. One worker said it was just the heat from the sun while another said they were working on the A/C. No straight answers.

   I made a late reservation (day prior, my bad but was available) my mother-in-law was visiting from Japan and we wanted to share a Hawaiian fine dining experience. We showed up about 10 minutes early to the reservations time slot. Waited beyond slotted time. When we were shown to our table it was outside and not even in a nice area it was away from the rest of the outside diners on the lawn that was sloped🫤 that’s the way the rest of the night went. Downhill and more long waits. For the cost of 3 adults and 4 adolescents. This experience was not worth the cost. Would have been better off eating at a chain restaurant 🫠.

   As usual Roy’s goes above and beyond in all categories! For Valentine’s Day it was a 4 course preset menu and everything was absolutely delicious. Lobster cakes to start, a Caesar salad and a wonderful selection of main course options. I had the beef short ribs and my husband had Australian lamb chops both were amazingly tasty. We finished with a red velvet cake bar with a cookie crust and raspberry sauce on top. Great meal from start to finish.

   We had the Valentine's Day dinner at Roy's. They had a super cute love balloon set up for photos and all the tables had pink and white napkins. We were greeted by every staff member as we passed and wished happy Valentine's Day by our server. The pre fixe menu was lovely. Lobster balls and salad to start and a large choice of mains, followed by an amazing dessert. They were able to accommodate for gluten and dairy free. We chose to sit outside and loved the ocean view and sunset. We chose non-alcoholic local mules for cocktails and they were lovely. Overall it was a beautiful evening we were very thankful for.

   Went to celebrate Valentine’s Day, our anniversary & having a baby. Lamb chops & Butterfish was so amazing, as well as the rest of our food. Red velvet crunch cake was soooo good!

   Every item on every plate has its own incredibly, delicious distinct flavor. The quality and standards are always consistent. Much appreciated! That to us is where Roy’s is always ahead of all the other restaurants.

   Never had a bad experience here at Roy's Hawaii Kai, staff always very friendly, clean, excellent food, good selection, food cooked to perfection, great prices, great portions.

   This was our first time at the Original Roy's, though we've been to other locations on both the mainland and the islands. The food was always was great and we really enjoyed the butterfish. But the service was particularly exceptional, as the manager was very accommodating to our needs and all the servers were friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back again!!!
