After a two-year closure, Original Joe's, San Francisco’s quintessential Italian-American dining destination, revitalized iconic Daly City institution Joe’s of Westlake, and reintroduced it into the community as Original Joe’s Westlake. An anchor of Daly City from 1956 to 2014, Original Joe’s Westlake underwent an extensive two-year renovation, complete with a front-to-back interior remodel, including the kitchen and all dining spaces, and an exterior and landscaping overhaul. Following the Original Joe’s tradition, Westlake continues to prepare unpretentious, old-school Italian-American fare in an open kitchen for all to see. The menu is carefully crafted to reflect a past-meets-present hybrid of what Joe’s of Westlake used to be and what Original Joe’s Westlake is today.

    Evoking the spirit of the original Joe’s of Westlake, the newly renovated restaurant transports guests to Westlake circa 1960. Boasting Sputnik lighting, terrazzo flooring and redwood accents throughout, Original Joe’s Westlake elicits mid-century America in the likes of Palm Springs, Beverly Hills and Las Vegas. The newly reimagined Cascade Room features show-stopping pimento orange banquettes, and offers a variety of options for large gatherings—from private rehearsal dinners and memorial receptions, to smaller non-private family dinners, class reunions and birthday celebrations. With beautiful custom sliding doors, the Cascade Room can be divided in half, creating two fully private event spaces, accommodating up to 50 guests each.

    Food took really long to come out. But was amazing when it did. Reservations were at 630 order placed by 635 but food came out at 725.

    Food was so delicious- lamb chops and prime rib cooked as requested . Dessert was the way to end a meal - cheesecake and Joe’s sundae. Couldn’t ask for more.

    If you want a restaurant with lots of choices, great staff and quality food, Original Joes at Westlake, Daly City, is for you. The place was busy on a Monday at lunchtime. As with many restaurants these days, the prices have gone up. We were three and ordered Fish and Chips, Chicken Parm and a Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato Avocado sandwich. The Fish was good, but fries were not hot. Chicken Parm was very good. BLTA was pricey and just OK with lots of BLTA, but on bread that was only lightly toasted and cold. Came with a very nice side salad, however.

    Always a good meal, however the chicken caesar salad barely had any chicken. Only had a few very small measly pieces. Flavor of the salad was really good, romain very crunchy but don't be so stingy on the chicken, please. Everything else was great, dessert was amazing....Bamolini were the bomb...outstandingly scrumptious. Our waiter and busboy were excellent. Friendly, attentive. We have been to Westlake Joes many many times over years. Great restaurant.

    Maybe we have been waiting and putting such high expectations, we are not totally satisfied with the food quality. The food in general is too salty. The steak is not cooked properly, and the fried calamari comes with too much oil on the plate. This is not the same Original Joe’s in my memory.

    We were a party of seven. Three different steaks ordered, chicken parm, salmon, and a sandwich. The food was really good, everyone was tasting each other's dish and commenting they would try that the next time we eat at Westlake Joe's. The lunch crowd and atmosphere were just right.

    We love Joes of Westlake!!! It is our go to place for Celebrations or for out of town visitors. It has such a great SF vibe. The service is always exceptional. The food is consistently delicious. The butter cake is a must for dessert!
