As the first uptown New York location for legendary chef Nobu Matsuhisa, we opened with much anticipation in the summer of 2005.Nobu's co-owners are his longtime partners: renowned restaurateur Drew Nieporent, Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro, and Hollywood film producer Meir Teper. The restaurant showcases Nobu's signature new style Japanese cuisine with classic dishes such as Tiradito Nobu Style and Black Cod Miso. The restaurant received three stars from the New York Times.

    Arrived for a birthday dinner but sat at a not so nice looking table. Ended up leaving earlier than expected as I really didn't feel special. Drinks tasted like they were made with not the highest quality of liquor. Yellowtail with Jalepeno was good but Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna was meh. But the server was super nice and did a great job.

    Love Nobu! The crispy rice & spicy tuna is my favorite! Also love the black miso cod and strawberry cake. Always excellent service and great ambiance.

    We had a wonderful time, went to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The food was incredible and the service was absolutely over the top. Can’t wait to return for another special occasion to celebrate.

    I made a reservation for 10 PM at 9:12 PM, knowing there were also 9:30 and 9:45 slots available. I opted for 10 PM but showed up early at 9:30, expecting to be seated since tables were visibly open. Instead, I was made to stand for 30 minutes while staring at my available table, which was incredibly frustrating. When we were finally seated, the table placement was so cramped that we were practically on top of the neighboring tables. To make matters worse, the group to our left was loud, drunk, and vulgar to the point that we couldn’t even hold a conversation. Our server initially made a good recommendation for starters, and the food itself was great. But after that, the service fell apart completely. We were forgotten for 30 minutes before getting another course. Then, we waited another 20 minutes only to be told the kitchen was closing. We asked for a dessert menu, which took 20 minutes to arrive, and when we finally asked for the check, it took an additional 15 minutes to receive it. What should have been an enjoyable dining experience turned into a frustrating and disappointing night. While the food was good, the service, wait times, and overall environment were unacceptable. L
