As the first uptown New York location for legendary chef Nobu Matsuhisa, we opened with much anticipation in the summer of 2005.Nobu's co-owners are his longtime partners: renowned restaurateur Drew Nieporent, Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro, and Hollywood film producer Meir Teper. The restaurant showcases Nobu's signature new style Japanese cuisine with classic dishes such as Tiradito Nobu Style and Black Cod Miso. The restaurant received three stars from the New York Times.

    Your dishes at Nobu are consistently delicious. We tried the snow crab tempura for the first time. It was outstanding.

    This was our first Nobu experience and we will definitely be back. The food was great. Service was even better! The servers explained each dish and how it should be consumed. Well worth the visit!

    Very busy night with the holidays but service was very slow. Took 15 minutes for a waiter to come and take a drink order and hand us a food menu. Took another 10-15 minutes to have them take the check. Only cane back after we stood up to leave. The food was great as always just disappointed with the service this time

    We are regular Nobu diners and typically enjoy it very much. Last night was an off night. Our server was lovely, but the food arrived very slowly and one item came cold. She replaced the item promptly. The nori was tough, which is unusual, but made the maki less enjoyable. We’ll be back, but was disappointed in our meal last night.

    This is normally one of our favorite restaurants in NY but last night it fell very short. I think maybe the restaurant was short staffed because our waitress was not attentive. She did have a problem table behind us where a tray of waters was spilled on a young boy which caused her to be even more distracted. We always love when the waitstaff can make offer recommendations and we try new things but again our waitress was distracted and some of our dishes took extra long to come out causing us to have to rush our dinner to leave in time for a show. Definitely not the experience we expect at Nobu. Disappointing.
