Our dinner at Gordon Ramsay Steak did not disappoint. Highly recommend! The Beverages - We started off with “Notes from Gordon” and “Hugo Spritz”. Both were refreshing and delicious. Whether you are a gin lover or not, you cannot leave without having a “Notes from Gordon”. It is a standout drink. We also had Burrowing Owl Merlot and Bonanza Cabernet, which were both great. The Food - Outstanding!!! The amuse bouche was delicious. We started with 3 plates to share: Crab Cake, Pork Belly and British Stout Onion Soup. The Crab Cake was one of the best we have had. Full of flavor and crab, not binders like you get at some places. The herb aioli was bright and the charred lemon was the perfect finish. The pork belly was crisp on a bed of creamy polenta. And the soup was the perfect balance of savory and salty. It held a generous potion of braised short rib and the crouton toppers were easy to eat. Our dinners included the Pan Seared Salmon and the 8oz Wagyu Striploin and Mac & Cheese. The salmon had the crispiest skin and was cooked to perfection. The Striploin had a great sear, was cooked to temp and the flavor was incredible. The double smoked bacon/jalapeño cream Mac & Cheese was very good, but too rich to pair with the Wagyu. Next time we would stick with the potatoes or a veggie side. But the showstopper is always the Sticky Toffee Pudding. The best we have had at any of his restaurants, and the caramel sauce is so good you want to bathe in it. The Service - Our server Sandeep was fantastic. His attention to detail was impressive, and his service was attentive but not stifling. All staff were friendly and welcoming, from the hostess to the manager. The Ambiance - We were seated in the back dining room, which I would recommend if you are going for a special occasion. The lighting was dim, but the mini lamps at the table were touch lighting so you could adjust the level of light at the table. There was pleasant music playing, which was at a comfortable level.

Sometimes great restaurants try to do too much to food, combining too many flavors or textures and forgetting the beauty of simplicity. While Roe is an excellent restaurant, I believe this is happening... First, we loved the salads at Roe - the combination of flavors and textures worked. I know we would have loved, loved, loved the focaccia if it were just focaccia: the addition of the serrano ham might have been okay, but having it sit in a "broth" of a sweet alfredo sauce made it too gloppy and unappetizing, without really adding anything to the beauty and flavor of the focaccia. Also, the Dungeness Crab mixture on a hashbrown was indistinguishable as crab, and rather than let the crab flavor (buttery and delicate) shine through, it was overwhelmed with the saucy mixture. The steamed clams and ricotta gnocchi were both excellent. Overall, the service and ambiance are great. We'll certainly go again and hope to see a few more menu items that enhance the flavor of the main ingredient rather than try to combine too many flavors into the dish.

Professionally dressed and courteous staff. Food is top notch and always consistent. The time between courses was enough to allow a relaxed dining experience for the six of us. We've been eating at various Anthony's for many years.

One of my favorite restaurants. I have been coming here for years and it has always been delicious and an enjoyable time. Their summer patio set up is really pretty. It gives the vibe of a different ambiance that you could forget you're on West Hastings between towers. I hope they continue with it permanently.

Discover Orcas Island

Known as the "Gem of the San Juans," Orcas Island in Northern Washington State is where fresh produce and homegrown fruits like prunes are prominently featured in restaurants serving contemporary American fare. After watching the sun set off of Puget Sound following a day of kayaking or hiking, you may find that a meal of fried chicken with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, roast broccoli with jalapeño honey and a buttermilk biscuit in milk gravy hits the spot. Fresh seafood is, of course, popular in this area, with oysters shucked at the bar, pesto-crusted local halibut or jumbo spot prawn skewers filling plates in small cafés and seaside diners here. Top off your meal with something sweet like a tropical soufflé made with passion fruit.
