- SSusanBaltimore / Maryland •4 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWe have been to Finnbar a few times and have always had great food and service, but on Saturday we had our most stellar dinner yet! The "Very crunchy winter vegetable salad" sounds basic and good for you, but it is out of this world, very creative and incredibly tasty. We would go back for this dish alone! And the wines are always superb! We just returned from a few days in NYC where we ate well, but nothing compared to the ambience and food at Finnbar in little Frenchtown, New Jersey.More infoFinnbarPrice: Expensive• Mediterranean• Frenchtown•4.8
- CChasVIPPhiladelphia County •1 review5.0Dined 2 days ago(Lunch review) Haven’t been to Earl’s in a very long time. I remember it being a lot more formal back in the day. I think their description nails it: “casual rustic charm” with “contemporary cuisine”. Great vibe, clean and attentive service. Perfect spot for a nice lunch in Peddlers Village. The Lobster Dumplings were so good that I hoped my wife didn't like them - but of course she loved them. The Grilled Chicken Sandwich with honey-whipped feta was spot on perfect. IMHO, Earl’s and Caleb’s are the two best lunch spots in the immediate village.More infoEarl's New AmericanPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• New Hope•4.6

Today we sat in the main dining room with a view of the Delaware River! Gorgeous views. Great ambiance. Good food! Nice wine selection. We will definitely be back!More infoBlack Bass HotelPrice: Expensive• International• Lumberville•4.7

12 of Philadelphia’s outstanding spots for celebrating special occasions
Maybe you got engaged on the steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art or just picked up the keys to your first rowhouse. It could be that your kid is (finally) toilet trained, or that your noisy neighbor moved away. Sometimes, simply surviving another Tuesday can be an occasion to celebrate over a restaurant meal. It doesn’t have to be fancy. What makes an occasion special isn’t an arbitrary date on the calendar—it’s the decision to celebrate. Luckily, Philadelphia bursts with places where the food and atmosphere lend themselves to living it up. Grab dinner and a jazz show at a swinging North Broad Street faithful. Opt for a quieter night at a critically acclaimed, plant-based gem in Midtown Village. Or splurge on a swanky steakhouse that presides over a corner of Rittenhouse Park. Whether you’re after an intimate spot for an anniversary date or a convivial atmosphere for a boisterous reunion, Philadelphia has you covered with these 12 celebration-worthy restaurants.
