- KKarenSan Francisco Bay Area •1 review5.0Dined 2 days agoVery attentive service, adorable theming, delicious food. Best wine-to-food pairing (in terms of each complementing--nay, _enriching_--the other) I have ever experienced.More infoNightbirdPrice: Very Expensive• Californian• Civic Center / Hayes Valley / Van Ness•4.7
- QQuyenSan Francisco Bay Area •1 review5.0Dined 2 days agoUnexpectedly great! Firstly, the interior was very nice, more upscale than I expected. I was used to the hole in the wall Burmese place near my house. Secondly, the food was delicious! My favorites were the tea leaf salad and the scallops that came with a divine sauce. Thirdly, it was across the street from a parking structure and was only a block away from Davies Symphony Hall where we were scheduled to go. This will be the restaurant to go to before shows.More infoTeakwoodPrice: Moderate• Burmese• Civic Center / Hayes Valley / Van Ness•4.6
- DDeborahSan Francisco Bay Area •2 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoMy experience at Absinthe was outstanding. The ambiance is beautiful. Wonderful music as well. The food was exquisitely prepared. Lovely appetizers and I had the vegetable Quiche with a very fresh salad. The quiche had a lovely crisp buttery crust and with a wonderful squash to compliment it inside. The pumpkin cheesecake dessert was so delicate and perfect. All in all, an outstanding experience at Absinthe. I highly recommend it.More infoAbsinthe Brasserie and Bar - SFPrice: Expensive• French• Civic Center / Hayes Valley / Van Ness•4.8

Discover Hayes Valley
A hotbed for the tech set and buzzing eateries, Hayes Valley has quickly become one of the hottest dining destinations in the city. After the 1989 Loma Pieta earthquake destroyed the Central Freeway, it paved the way for the rise of the neighborhood. Today, it’s hard to walk more than a block before discovering another gem—whether it’s sushi, Scandinavian, modest Greek, or liquid nitrogen ice cream. It’s not all casual cuisine, however. Nestled amidst the dense deliciousness, you’ll find rustic French bistros and a champagne bar with an extensive caviar list. After exploring the eclectic flavors and charm of the Hayes Valley streets, we recommend heading to Patricia’s Green for a perfect desert of people watching and unwinding.
