- RRobinBarcelona •1 review5.0Dined on Dec 25, 2024We went to Shoku on Christmas Day for the Christmas Menu. We made an early reservation at 1:30 which means we get there when it is quieter and less crowded, which we like. There was Christmas music playing of all the old favorites. The service was excellent throughout the meal with someone filling our wine glasses as needed, taking empty plates away promptly, and ensuring that we didn't need anything. The menu was delicious with two options for each course. I had the mushroom and chicken cannelloni and my husband had the traditional Catalan soup, Escudella y Carn D'olla, with was flavorful and plentiful. Then we both had the sea bass in a Catalan Sauce, and Apple Strudel with pistachio ice cream for dessert. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. All included wine and a final dessert of turrones and cookies for our sobremesa time. The price was very reasonable for this delicious meal. We will definitely go back.More infoShôko Barcelona Restaurant & LoungePrice: Expensive• Mediterranean• La Barceloneta•4.4

Discover la Vila Olímpica del Poblenou
La Vila Olímpica del Poblenou, or The Olympic Village of Poblenou, was constructed by famous architects Oriol Bohigas, David Mackay, and Albert Puigdomènec specifically for the 1992 Summer Olympics held in Barcelona. Relatively new to the city, la Vila Olímpica del Poblenou has still managed to make a name for itself amongst its older neighbors in the Sant Martí district. With plenty of shopping, nightlife, parks, water activities, and restaurants nearby, the area is always bustling with energy and enthusiasm. And due to its close proximity to the sea, you’ll find that restaurants typically serve lighter Mediterranean-style dishes, utilizing fresh, local ingredients as much as possible. But if you’re in the mood for something heartier, don’t hesitate to try the Catalan favorites like escudella i carn d'olla, a classic stew, or even fideuà, their inventive take on a traditional paella.
