Since it was comfortable and the same menu was available we decided to eat at the bar. Good choice as Joe was our bartender and was very attentive. We started with the mussels and then I had Gnocchi, which was excellent and my wife had Gigli, also very good. We finished with Tiramisu, which was killer good. They were not offering a pris fixe menu for Christmas but their regular menu offered exotic meats, such as Antelope, Bison, Wild Boar, Ostrich and Mike, our server was STELLAR. He took excellent care of us, guiding us through the menu, and making my wife feel extra special (her birthday is Christmas Eve). I specifically chose an early reservation to enjoy the sunset, and the views did not disappoint. The black garlic oysters were my personal favorite, while my wife enjoyed the sausage. Mike paired our food with several excellent wines from Italy and France. I wanted an espressotini with Baileys and Orange Sky was happy to make my dessert cocktail a little creamy, the way I like it. Our waitress was very efficient and endearing. The last thing I would mention is the noise level. So many restaurants in Scottsdale play very loud music which brings up the level of sound to make it unable to talk to someone sitting right next to you. Ocean 44 was perfect.
