- SStevenGreater Boston •12 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoOur experience at Post 1917 was incredible. It started with our waiter Louis, who was friendly and well informed about the food and drinks. The drinks were well made. The appetizers we had were wagyu dumplings and lamp chop lollypops. The dumplings were great and the lollypops were the best we've ever had. Our steaks were cooked to perfection with advice from our waiter on the best way to order them. Our sides were au gratin potatoes and street corn. The potatoes were great and the street corn was exceptional. Our waiter Louis was great in offering a wine pairing which turned out to be spot on. His service was top notch.More infoPost 1917 SteakhousePrice: Very Expensive• Steakhouse• Reading•4.7
- BBarbaraGreater Boston •8 reviews4.0Dined 6 days agoI dined in a party of 6. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I started with a Mistletoe Martini which was rather nice, and then I had the seafood scampi: mussels, 4 shrimp and a piece of codfish served in a creamy garlic sauce over linguini. It was very tasty. Service was on the slower side. There was a musician making good music but the place is small and the music was loud so that made it difficult to converse with anyone not sitting right next to you. Overall a good experience!More infoThe CharlesPrice: Expensive• American• Reading•4.4

Discover Reading
It’s not surprising that the oldest structure in Reading was originally a tavern. Many others have sprung up around town since 1694, and they’re dishing up some of the best clam chowder, shepherd’s pie and baked beans in all of New England. With the Atlantic Ocean just a stone’s throw away, seafood from fish-and-chips to beer-steamed clams is as fresh as it comes. The great lobster roll debate – hot with melted butter or cold with mayo, lemon and herbs – rages on. You could settle it once and for all by trying both. Sample a traditional Irish corned beef hash, an escolar tataki sushi roll or homemade tortellini with mascarpone sauce. Immigration from around the globe is reflected in the delicious diversity of Reading’s cuisine. For dessert, Irish coffee and Boston cream pie are a match made in heaven.
