- CCaseyDetroit / Eastern Michigan •2 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoIt looks great inside, and the steak was the best ever. Pricy but worth it. We don’t get out much, and this place is a gem here in northern Oakland County so we don’t have to drive into the city for a top scale meal.More infoRudy's Prime SteakhousePrice: Very Expensive• Steakhouse• Clarkston•4.8

Discover White Lake
Located northeast of Detroit, the suburban township of White Lake offers a range of classic Midwest food options. A trip to the area would be criminal if it didn't involve eating a Coney Dog. This hot dog classic has since spread across the United States, but its place of conception was Detroit and dates back to 1917. Another dish that has deep roots in Michigan is the Cornish pasty. Carried over by English miners that settled in the area, the pasty's entrance into the region dates back to the 1840s. This meat, potato, turnip, and onion-filled pastry is a commentary on the area's industrial roots. The region offers nods to American classics, but spans the entire web of culinary interests.
