- SSanjayVIPToronto / Ontario •35 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWe go to this place once every year at Christmas time to celebrate a birthday. I believe this is the 3rd or 4th year of us going back. It is a great spot — really good food and ambience. The service was incredible — we were assisted by Jack and his service, attention to detail, demeanour, positive vibes, etc etc was unbelievably good. It was such a pleasure all evening. When he realized we were celebrating a birthday he offered a Molton chocolate cake dessert on the house even though we had paid the bill, we asked for a cocktail recipe and he hand wrote it for us. It was little gestures like this that make it memorable. It made a really good dinner to be great and for that we are very appreciative.More infoTenPrice: Expensive• Japanese• Charlottesville•4.9
- GGwynneVirginia •38 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWow, just wow - the food is outstanding. We had 4 in our party and everyone got steak - rib-eye, NY, and filet (2). They were all cooked perfectly and the portions are large. We had sides of smashed potatoes and mushrooms - both were outstanding. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it. John, our server, was great. He was perfectly attentive and time everything very well. The salad that comes with the dinner is underwhelming - I like my salad lightly dressed however it tasted like there was no dressing at all. That could definitely be better. If I would change one thing, it would be the seating. The tables along the back are high tables with chairs and a bench. Unless you are very tall, the table is high so you feel your face is too close to the table and the seating just isn't very comfortable. I hope to sit in a booth sometime which looks much more comfortable. Overall we will definitely be back to enjoy the amazing food and highly recommend Black Cow!More infoBlack Cow ChophousePrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• Charlottesville•4.9
- AAprilVirginia •4 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoThe drinks were very good. We waited at the bar until the table was ready. The Brasserie G&T was so tasty! The bartender was friendly and efficient. He was so busy, it was impressive with how quickly he was putting out drinks for the servers. I think there was only one draft beer available, but my husband was happy with the local beer that was offered. (There were many others available in cans or bottles). We were seated at a nice booth prior to the reservation time. The bread and butter was fresh and delicious. I had the crab cakes and my husband had the NY strip. Both were very good. The crab cakes were fried, but not at all greasy. There was no discernible filler and the house made tartar sauce was delicious. We chose the crème caramel for dessert. It was a very nice custard with berries and a thin caramel sauce. Everything was great. The service was very good, but all the servers seemed to be overextended. Maybe they were a little short handed last night. Overall, it was an excellent meal and we will definitely go back.More infoDuners RestaurantPrice: Expensive• American• Charlottesville•4.7
