We have been going here for many years and have experienced changes with different ownership. It has been about a year since our last visit and it is still hopping but the servers are overloaded. Our server was very nice but could not be very attentive as she was handling multiple parties. We still tipped her well as she was definitely trying. The sushi was good but the cocktails are smaller in size and not as good while prices have definitely increased. The value has decreased when comparing to prior experience.

The fish was very fresh. The flavors are great especially the miso cod. Wish we had ordered more. However, the waygu nigri was way too chewy and difficult to swallow. Considering how expensive the meal was, I was expecting better quality all around.

Decent mid-tier Japanese food. Seems a bit pricey for what you get.

My party of 3 had a Saturday 7:00 p.m. reservation. We were seated upstairs which I normally like, however it was a very disappointing experience. There was one server for the entire floor, and only a couple of runners bringing food. We got our drinks within a decent timeframe but waited a very long time for our food. The party next to us got their food long before their drinks arrived. We ordered a second round of cocktails and after thinking it was forgotton, finally motioned the sole server to cancel the order. But then she arrived a minute later with watered down drinks with non-existent ice cubes. She took them off the order but it was a less than pleasant experience. A couple who had been sitting for a very long time finally got up and walked out without even getting water. I have enjoyed many wonderful meals at Moshi Moshi however this was an unfortunate experience. I felt bad for our server as she was doing her best but without any support, it was a lost cause. I blame the restaurant for not staffing appropriately for a Saturday night. I get that there is not a surplus of restaurant workers and if that was the case, adjust the number of reservations in order to provide a wonderful experience for your loyal customers.

Hi Maggie, I'm very sorry you had a poor experience with us Saturday night. As you noted, it's not our typical level of service. Unfortunately, we had 2 people call out sick at the last minute so we were running on reduced staffing despite our best efforts. In the future, please feel free to ask to speak to the manager or contact us directly if you have a poor experience. We're in the hospitality business and we want to provide a great experience every time. I would have happily compensated you for your experience. I do hope you'll join us again sometime soon. As I mentioned, that was an unfortunate series of circumstances that led to us being so short staffed that night.

Food was very good but the service was not great. It was NYE so busy and likely not the usual staff.

The food was delicious, the service was terrible. Gave us our food and never checked back in with us. When we finally got our second glass of wine our meal was long finished.
