Massive wooden door, old bricks and rustic beams of Harrisonburg’s old City Produce Exchange building, the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience at The LOCAL Chop & Grill House. Our menu features fresh, hand-selected, LOCAL and seasonal foods prepared with a progressive flair.
Farm to Table is the mainstay of our eating philosophy.     My husband was given a steak that had so much gristle on it that I'm surprised they put that on his plate. I'm very disappointed about that. The manager came to our table and she didn't know how to handle the issue. She seemed like she never had customer service experience. Needless to say, we won't be back again. Thanks for our bad Veterans Day meal.

    Food was very good though was just warm by the time it made it to our table. Service was prompt initially then slowed as the meal went on; should not have been a 2hr meal. Server was friendly, spoke so fast she was obviously in a hurry, many of her comments seemed recited to everyone. The restaurant seems old and tired, needs deeper cleaning. We won’t be returning.

    We had an excellent meal, clearly prepared with great care. Our server was one of the most helpful, friendly and professional we’ve ever had. A very nice location in a re-purposed brick building with a long history. The only negative was that it’s a bit tough to find parking. They do give advice on that though.

    Celebrated 3 years of marriage. They welcomed us and said congrats on your anniversary. Dessert plate had Happy Anniversary written in chocolate on the plate. Wine was very good. Just a beautiful visit.

    I understand it's a busy Saturday, but we waited 40 minutes for our steaks. When we checked in with our waitress after about 30 minutes, her immediate response was to ask if we wanted to speak to the manager. I would have preferred an explanation that it was a busy night and our food was still being prepared. Additionally, the table next to us arrived after we did and had already finished their steaks and was waiting for dessert. Another table behind us came in while we were still waiting, and their food arrived shortly after ours. I don’t want to blame the waitress, but this wasn’t at all what I expected for a birthday dinner.
