Chaplin's Executive Chef and Partner, Myo Htun, is originally from Burma, but was cooking ramen in Japan at a young age. Myo received a blessing from his mentor in Japan after nearly 30 years of cooking in Japan, to come to America and continue to showcase his authentic Ramen and traditional Japanese cuisine. Chaplin's Restaurant demonstrates the aesthetic of a bustling ramen house in Japan in the 1930's silent film era. There is also a large outdoor dining area that is dog friendly. I’m so impressed with this quiet little gem of a restaurant! This was my and my husband’s second time having Ethiopian food, and our first was 25 years ago. Das is located on a side street in Georgetown, with a great view of M st. The food is absolutely delicious! We started with the shrimp tibs, I had the veg sampler and hubs had chicken infillay. Service was impeccable, vibes elegant, and the whole experience was perfection. A must do!

Another excellent experience. We had someone in our group that is gluten free. Staff did a great job answering questions and verifying the GF process. Pad see ew was excellent. Skewers were a hit, we had a variety of chicken, shrimp, and pork belly. Great spot at The Wharf before the theater.

We had a table for 8 in a little niche and suspect that the tables in the open would have been much louder as it’s a bit packed. 90% of the food was delicious! Guacamole was stunning; diced tomatillos added texture and flavor without any heat in the mild version. Two of us that usually pass on guac were blown away. we had the brunch menu, and huevos rancheros had a salty queso fresco in cubes, which I had never seen like that. Huaraches with steak were fabulous, my daughter loved her lengua taco, which are hard to find on a menu. The caldo tlalpeño was only ok for me; I wanted it to be limey and mild like i remember from Taxco but it was more Mexico City style with chiles. The only disappointment was the churros; none of us loved them. Not enough cinnamon and a texture that was meh. There were some more exotic desserts like a multi layer chocolate pastel with flan and a fruited tres leches that maybe we should have tried.

With an ambience steeped in rustic charm and a menu filled with treasures from the sea, Pearl Dive Oyster Palace focuses on fresh produce and quality ingredients in its welcoming eatery. Specializing in a wide variety of oysters, from such places as Virginia, Japan, Rhode Island, British Columbia and Washington state, Peal Dive Oyster Palace takes oyster preparation seriously, complementing the delicate taste of the oyster. Appetizer options include crispy crawfish fritters, barbecue shrimp and wood-grilled oysters. Besides oysters, house specialties have a decidedly Cajun flair, with items such as seafood gumbo, crawfish etouffee and Gulf Coast Redfish, all of which have an amazing balance of spices.

The rich entrées at Pearl Dive Oyster Bar are further replicated in its dessert menu, with winning options like Beignets and Brazos River Bottom Pecan Pie.

Rappahannock Oyster Bar (Wharf) occupies the restored historic oyster shed (circa 1912) building at the Municipal Fish Market (the oldest fish market in the United States). I keep returning to San Lorenzo for its excellent food, very fine service and delightful atmosphere. My veal chop was of the highest quality, and the squash blossom is a personal favorite. There’s a very good, but overly expensive, wine list. The staff are very knowledgeable and quite friendly. I’ll be back.

Went for the 4 course Christmas Lunch based on the menu posted online (lots of seafood). We were happy that we landed on The Pembroke! Started with cocktails from the holiday menu - a mescal & a bourbon drink. Yummy. Raw & charcuterie bar was next. The stone crabs were a bit hard to manage because we didn't have crackers or lobster forks, but we made it work. Appetizers consisted of seared scallop (minus bacon) & lobster bisque, both of which were done to perfection. Entree was turbot, which was also cooked to perfection & the accompanying clams were the highlight for me. Dessert was ok, but the weakness of the meal - I had sorbet & my friend had Mont Blanc, which was definitely different than the usual format. I did like the addition of coffee ice cream on it - definitely the highlight of the dessert. Staff was very friendly & knowledgeable. Our server, Daniel, was extra attentive, but everyone chipped in to assist. Would definitely go back for a special occasion! Thank you for making Christmas a unique experience!
