Great food and service even on a busy Christmas-eve, we had 8:30pm reservations, was seated immediately even though the restaurant was full. My husband order a burger without cheese, it appeared they had added the cheese and realized the mistake, they removed it but left remnants of the cheese on the burger. We brought this to our waiter attention. They corrected it by preparing a fresh burger and the manager came over to our table to acknowledge the mistake, apologized and took the burger off our bill. That’s the reason we continually patronize this Firebirds! They have exceptional customer service! Thanks 😊

Le Yaca began in 1964 in Courchevel, a tiny, country village in the French Alps. Daniele Bourderau & Gerard decided it would be fun to open a small restaurant. When friends learned of their plans, they told the hopeful restaurateurs they were crazy to think people would drive eight kilometers on a winding, icy road for dinner. Daniele and Gerard hesitated for three months and then decided, “yaca le faire,” a contraction of the French phrase “il n’y a qu’a le faire,” which basically means, “let’s do it.” They called the restaurant Le Yaca as a gag, but the name caught on with customers who were amused by the pun and contributed to the restaurant’s lore by inventing “yaca-isms” of their own: yaca y aller (let’s go). Daniele came to the United States and opened Le Yaca in Williamsburg. Daniel Abid bought Le Yaca in 2001. Daniel worked and trained in such prestigious places as “Le Pre Catelan” and “Lenotre” in Paris; “L’Amandier” and “Roger Verge," and to top it all off, “Alain Ducass

We came on Christmas Day at 3:13. The hosts couldn’t find my reservation from Open Door. After a few minutes, they found it. And we were seated. Our waitress was wonderful. We had our dinner, which was very good.. I had spaghetti bolognese. Very good! My friend and I shared a caprese salad. We loved it. We will go there again. We loved it!

The drinks were very good. We waited at the bar until the table was ready. The Brasserie G&T was so tasty! The bartender was friendly and efficient. He was so busy, it was impressive with how quickly he was putting out drinks for the servers. I think there was only one draft beer available, but my husband was happy with the local beer that was offered. (There were many others available in cans or bottles). We were seated at a nice booth prior to the reservation time. The bread and butter was fresh and delicious. I had the crab cakes and my husband had the NY strip. Both were very good. The crab cakes were fried, but not at all greasy. There was no discernible filler and the house made tartar sauce was delicious. We chose the crème caramel for dessert. It was a very nice custard with berries and a thin caramel sauce. Everything was great. The service was very good, but all the servers seemed to be overextended. Maybe they were a little short handed last night. Overall, it was an excellent meal and we will definitely go back.

Italian inspired cuisine in a charming and beautiful country setting with outdoor dining all summer and a covered heated tent in the winter. Our stone terrace with large fireplace nestled between aromatic herb and flower gardens makes for a beautiful setting year around.

Upon booking, please select either an indoor or outdoor table. "Standard" refers to an indoor table. If an outdoor table is not listed, the patio may be booked at that time. Please call us directly if your preference is not listed.

Our tent is down for the summer! Tables on the patio are covered by umbrellas for protection from sun and in the case of rain. In the case of inclement weather, we will do our best to accommodate outdoor bookings indoors based on availability.

Take out from 4:30pm to 8:00pm daily and can be ordered by calling us at (804) 741-4800.

We are unable to accomadate parties of more than 6. We are unable to separate parties into multiple tables.

We have mixed feelings about Portico. On the positive side, it is a gorgeous setting, especially the outside patio. Even the inside area is cozy and welcoming. We ate here several times during the pandemic, and it felt so great to be outside in this beautiful environment. BUT we haven't been back in quite some time because we had some reservations about returning, and, sadly, they still exist after last night's visit. Our number one issue is their longtime refusal to charge corkage so that we can enjoy our own wine, which is more suited to us than the wine on their very expensive wine list. We don't know of any other upscale restaurant in Richmond that does not allow corkage, which is very important to us. So we reluctantly paid $60 for a $20 Italian Russo when we have such great wine at home. We would have been happy to pay the $10 - 35 corkage charge that we pay at other restaurants, but they were firm. That alone makes us reluctant to return. BUT onto the service and food! The service was great - Billy very attentive. My husband's wedge salad was great. My caprese salad didn't need that huge amount of lettuce that was added when the caprese part was all that was needed, but I love Caprese, so it was great. My husband absolutely LOVED his lamb risotto dish! For fun, I ordered the baked spaghetti with sausage, which was great, but again, a HUGE serving that will be lunch for the next few days. We ran into trouble when we ordered cappuccinos. My husband was just OK with his, but mine was so incredibly runny with no real taste. I've never had anything like it before and really didn't like it. The server, to his credit, offered a new one, but that seemed a waste of time when my husband's was also weak and runny. It was a disappointment when we got the bill and were still charged for 2 cappuccinos instead of one. Any sort of gesture towards recognizing my dissatisfaction would have been appreciated, but nothing was offered. Not sure if we'll be back.

Very nice Christmas Eve lunch in this bar/restaurant on Yorktown’s “modern” water front. Appetizer was great, entrees were good and the dessert was spectacular. Nice views and extremely friendly service. Visit the book/antique shop across the street for fun nostalgia.

Only one little negative mark, I felt their Hot Tuna signature dish should have been plated with a small side of vegetable. I was surprised when it came without, so my table shared their veggies with me. I missed it on the menu, maybe it was too dimmly lit, but I assummed it would come with a vegetable. Overall Lucky is a GEM! We visited on the Monday before Christmas. While many restaurants were closed - because it was Monday, leadership at Lucky made the wise decision to be open. It was a busy night in downtown Roanoke and the restaurant was pretty full as a result. To my thinking it also gave the employees a chance to make some good Christmas tips. I suspect that the restaurants that were closed will be also be closed Tuesday and Wednesday as well because of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day respectively. That leaves the employees with 3 days with no pay or tips. Good job Lucky! With respect to food and service: The food and drink menus are inventive and inspiring. I was impressed by the quality, taste and presentation of the food. I think the prices are a smidge high but the quality, SERVICE, and ambiance certainly make up for it. Based on our one visit, I will say that Lucky seems to be a GEM in the Roanoke restaurant scene.

We arrived on time for our 8pm reservation. It was crowded and we had to wait no more than 10 minutes to be seated. Once seated it took our sever a couple of minutes to take our drink order. I had high expectations for Stella's based on all of the positive reviews over the years and Stella's totally lived up to the expectations and, in fact, exceeded expectations. Our server Hannah knew the menu quite well and was able to make on point recommendations to us about the food and the beverages. She did a great job describing all of the specials to us. The portions here are large so come hungry. You will get your money's worth!! The first page of the menu is meze which can be shared. I saw several people get the saganaki which looked delicious and provided a fun viewing since it comes out on fire. The next page is full of traditional Greek dishes. I had the salad on special as my appetizer - spinach, toasted pita, almonds, pomegranate arils and cheese. Delicious and huge - we could have shared it. My entree was the pastichio but over pasta. Also huge and yummy. Our dessert was the chocolate ouzo moussed. SO GOOD. I can't wait to return to Stella's.

Beautiful ambiance... amazing meal... excellent service with staff going above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home in their wonderful old farmhouse. At 62 I've eaten tenderloin all over the U.S., and the cut of beef my wife and I had here is at the top of our list. Thank you Veritas for an incredible evening!

Very pleasant dining experience with delicious food and a comfortable atmosphere. It was just a tiny bit crowded requiring adjustment of chairs as other diners walked by to take their tables. This is a great option for business dinners and parties.

Food was great, ambience was great and our server friendly and efficient. There was no piano playing and so conversation was easy. We made a 40 minute drive to dine there and will do so again.
