We had the most amazing experience. Josh our server was very friendly and knowledgable of the menu and history of Akira Back. We met sous chef Kim who answered all of our questions about the menu. The attention to every detail with table maintenance was spot on, and the food was well presented and simple. The food was delicious and fresh. We booked a table for dinner for family and they loved the ambience of the place and the hospitality provided by the owner Suzy. The food was quite a mix of flavours and really worked well for us as we were looking for some different delicacies to try in vegetarian. The place also offers gluten free food which was a plus as we had friends who wanted gluten free items. All in all a pleasant evening in a warm environment made for a lovely dinner.

Everything we ordered was exquisite. Packed with flavour but also well balanced. I’m familiar with Middle Eastern food and this exceeded my expectations by far. One of the best culinary experience you can ask for. The 5 course meal surprise selection was absolutely stunning. Each dish had exceptional chef’s culinary skills. When you receive a menu that just says you have a choice of 3,5, or 7 courses you may be a little apprehensive about the food you will be eating. Every course was a delightful surprise. From the opening trout course with dried nori and 2 side sauces to dessert with vanilla mushroom ice cream! My favorite course was a beet salad with home made ricotta and macerated prunes. This restaurant is not for a picky eater (considering there are no choices as far as food is concerned) I recommend this restaurant highly for those people who love an interesting and delicious meal.

The experience was the best from start to finish. Booked our resv through open table but was only able to book for 1 person so made a note that table was for 2 & a birthday. They adjusted the resv for table of 2 automatically, reserved us a beautiful table & the chef is incredible, he greeted us at the door & remembered me from visiting before with other friends. The food was more than amazing, we had the anchovies appetizer & seafood paella for 2, my friend said it was just as excellent as what she’s eaten in Spain, the seafood was so fresh, everything tasted incredible! They even brought her a little flan with a candle on them! All the servers were so attentive, kind & great humour! I even recommended it to one of my members & she showed up the same evening with her partner to try it! Love this place & will def continue to promote & come back! Thank you LaVinia!

Food and service was excellent! The oysters were highly recommended as an appetizer- the ones made with maple and jalapeño and miso gratin were the best! Grilled octopus was also delicious! For entrees, we had halibut (fish of the day), salmon and the black linguine-portions were just right and was some of the best seafood I had. Definitely recommend and I can’t wait to go back when in Montreal again.

Great food and excellent service. The bathrooms might have been under renovation because the water from the tap was low flow which was annoying. Three of us recently dined at Vero for the first time. I decided to take a moment to write a review since we were all very impressed with the quality of the service, the ambiance, the quality of the food, and the attention to detail. Two of us had the surf and turf platter and the other had the tagliatelle puttanesca. We also had some olives to start and tiramisu to finish. The suggested wine pairing with the platter was spot on and was not overly expensive. After the first few bites, it soon became apparent that the chef was able to capitalize on the quality and marriage of the ingredients for flavour so did not need to use excessive salt, sweetness or butter as a crutch. While the pasta and the platter offerings were all terrific, I thought the lamb stood out. It was exceptional. Dining at Vero is not cheap but I think it is good value considering the outstanding quality of the food and service. I will definitely be back. By the way, I'm almost positive that I saw Mr. Frank Wong dining at a nearby table. Frank Wong seems to have disappeared from the scene over the past decade or so, but some foodies may recall that "back in the day" Frank Wong was one of the country's most discerning yet reclusive food critics. The fact that Frank Wong chooses to dine at Vero is high praise indeed.

We always have an amazing meal here. We try to visit at least twice a year. Our server, Cathy, is delightful and explains the pairings at each course. Food is amazing. Wine is incredible. Even the "server helper" (sorry! Didn't get a name!!) is attentive and professional. Even laughing at my jokes, politely lol. It is such a treat to come here. We are fans!!!

It is difficult at Yuwa to decide whether to have the excellent sushi, or the creative cooked dishes that the Chef comes up with. First class in every way. Should have 2 Michelin stars at least!
