Steakhouse
The Strip
About the restaurant
Michael Mina is a celebrity chef in Vegas. One of his most popular restaurants is StripSteak which aims to take the "stuffy" out of the classic steakhouse. StripSteak is the Aria Hotel and Casino, and it has traditional steakhouse options, like rib-eye, Scottish salmon, and a whole host of sides. Diners rave about the Maine lobster tacos, though, which come as a starter and include shrimp, shiso, kewpie mayo, and celery root spuma. StripSteak feels distinctly nightclubby inside with soaring ceilings and low-lit tables and booths, so come for a romantic night out or a late-night dinner for two.

About the restaurant
Diners might not automatically think about tacos when they come to a Japanese restaurant. But at Kumi, in Manadalay Bay, they can find some of the best tacos in Las Vegas. This stylish, whimsical restaurant with walls decorated in colorful leaf decor and light wood accents, has a typical Japanese sushi menu. But the Kobe Beef Tacos shine, and they come with Togarashi Salsa, Kochujang, and Micro Cilantro. There are several tacos in an order and they are big enough to share. Follow up with one of the restaurant's signature rolls, like the Hot Mess: Sashimi Poke, Kanikama, Avocado, and Screaming O Sauce.

I have a gluten allergy and never expect people to cater to me, but Catch definitely did! They even had Gf soy sauce. Our server Joseph was so energetic, attentive and friendly. The food was delicious! Great energetic vibe.

About the restaurant
Tapas is king at Crush, a gorgeous restaurant at the MGM Grand. On the tapas menu are the short rib tacos, which come with pickled red onions and cilantro. In addition to tapas, the restaurant has a selection of pizzas and other "contemporary American" dishes. The calming interior of the restaurant teems with neutral tones and lush greenery. Despite its calming decor, however, Crush has a thriving bar scene, and people come here to drink and party late into the night. So choose it for tacos paired with exciting nightlife.

We started out with a wine and that’s all it took to get us in the mood to eat. Probably the best steak I’ve ever had and you can’t have a steak without mashed potato’s ! Needless to say, we had to end the meal with a piece of cheese cake ! A perfect night !

South Las Vegas
About the restaurant
East of the strip and towards the more suburban neighborhoods of Las Vegas is Table 34, a new American restaurant that features a wide and varied menu with something for everyone. One of the best things on the menu here is the duck confit tacos. Served as a starter, these juicy, rich tacos come with pico de gallo, lime, and cilantro to cut the savory flavor of the duck. Table 34 is casual and welcoming inside, and consider it for a dinner with the entire family.

Time to check out the new Winter Prix-Fixe menu ($49) at Table 34. Plenty of options to select; items also available a la carte. First Course-Winter Salad: High pile of greens, evenly accented with robust bleu cheese crumbles and snappy nutty almond slices, with just enough berry vinaigrette for added sweet flavor. Second Course-Shrimp Pan Roast: A favorite whenever I can get this dish. Five giant shrimp tails at perfect firm bite consistency, bowing down to the generous mound of fluffy white rice, in a lake of creamy, veggie filled sauce. Tried a glass of the $10 Anko 2021 Malbec; very good pour. Dessert: Opted for a glass of Frank Family Vineyards 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon ($30); hefty price, but great pour and a full fruity spiced refined red. Value: Great food, great wine, great company = super value. Service: Gregarious and inviting from (co)owner Constantin and bartendress Dillan.

About the restaurant
The Black Sheep is one of the trendiest restaurants in Vegas that is not on the strip. Located in the southwestern corner of town, The Black Sheep serves artisan cocktails, wine, and a delicious menu of upscale bar food in a dark, warm, candlelit setting. For some of the best tacos in Las Vegas, diners should try the salmon skin tacos, which come as a starter. This dish features two salmon skin tacos filled with salmon belly tartare, tabiko, smoked shishito peppers, and micro cilantro. Follow the tacos with one of the restaurant's most popular entrees, the grass fed ribeye or the lemongass duck confit.

About the restaurant
The SLS is one of the newest and trendiest casino hotels on the strip. With low neon lights, glittery accents, and tech music humming in the background, it has a distinctly nightclub vibe, and it is also home to Bazaar Meat by Jose Andres. This upscale twist on the classic steakhouse doesn't just have meat on the menu. It also has tacos, which are some of the best tacos in Las Vegas. On the starters menu, diners can find José’s Asian Taco, which has Jamón ibérico de bellota, toasted nori, and flying fish roe. On the restaurant's carpaccio menu is bison buffalo style that visitors can roll into their own tacos. Accompanying toppings include pickled celery, bleu cheese, and buffalo wing sauce. The menu is meat and seafood heavy so choose it for diners who love fish and steak.

Incredible food, outstanding service, if you get to sit by the charcoal grills it does get a bit toasty, but its part of the charm. Stephanie explained the menu to perfection and helped us choose the best possible for our anniversary.
