This was the best place I have ever dinned in at! I have been to a lot of places and I have never had a restaurant that had everything look exactly like the photo as well as excellent taste. I’m not one to open up and try new things but I went 4 days in a row and I everything I tried was beyond amazing. The management is extremely nice and the waiters were super nice! I am from out of state and I would drive back there just to eat here. Seriously #1 restaurant! Should consider making one in Texas!

About the restaurant
Located on Winter Haven Road, this restaurant is the original M’tucci’s Moderno Italian. They opened a second outpost, but come check out the spot that made them so popular to begin with. It’s a lively restaurant focused mostly on deliciously affordable pizza pies. The atmosphere is welcoming and you can gather, eat, talk, laugh and enjoy cheap eats and drinks. In addition to their pizza pies, they have a full bar with a very interesting wine selection and moderately priced cocktails. Plus, they stay open late so you can keep the evening going with a round of dessert and some after-dinner drinks.

We had eaten at 2 other M'Tucci restaurants and this was our first time at the one closest to us (Coors and Montano, NW). We decided to try their Wed. night special at the bargain price of $30/person. We made a reservation about an hour ahead and were glad that we had. The restaurant was quite full. There were no choices on the special and no substitutions. I probably would not have ordered any of the dishes on the special but we were pleasantly surprised and pleased. The appetizer was a bruschetta topped with mussels. My husband adored this. I thought it was very good. It came with a small glass of a pleasant chardonnay. The main course was hangar steak with roast potatoes. I asked for mine to be cooked medium rare, I was told, you couldn't specify how you wanted it cooked, on the special. Our steaks came out medium rare and were exceptionally tender and flavorful. This was served with a small glass of Cabernet. Dessert was a pumpkin swirl cheesecake. This was the weakest of the courses but we still ate every bite. It was served with a moscato dessert wine. All the portions were small but we didn't leave hungry. Service was excellent in spite of how busy it was. We definitely will return for the Wed. special and will try other things as well. This may become our go to local restaurant.

Service was wonderful and ambiance was beautiful because of the view. Steak was a bit tough and pretty expensive, although we were comped this meal, which we appreciated! The wine special glass of the day showed as $3.5 on the menu, however was shocked to find out it was actually $35.00 per glass as relayed by the waiter before I considered ordering it!! Nice experience overall but plan to pay more than a usual steakhouse.

Highly underrated. Every time I’ve been here, the food and service have been exceptional. My steak today was absolutely the perfect medium rare. Everything was piping hot and fresh, with the exception of the desserts, and our server was friendly and super attentive. Glasses were never empty. Booths and tables are quiet and some very secluded, so dining is a pleasure here. You can go several other places in ABQ for a great steak, but you’ll pay twice as much and be in a crowded noisy room, so why? Just go here, you won’t be disappointed.

We had a very good meal at Mas. The service was great. Only concern was that the menu was very limited. There were no chicken dishes available. I have been to other tapas restaurants around the world and they always had a lot of choices. I would go back. Just hoping there were more options to choose from.
