Executive Chef Mark Mendez, whose experience includes Chicago’s most notable restaurants, pairs bold and exciting flavors for a seasonal menu of small plates ideal for sharing and experiencing the diverse mosaic of the countries that make up Latin America.

    This was our first visit. The staff was so friendly, and the food was delicious. We were there for brunch and will definitely be coming back to try the dinner menu!

    We walked by the restaurant twice without realizing it was the restaurant. When you walk inside, it’s very difficult to see and many people were using their phones to read the menu. The food is excellent, a tad rushed, but it would be nice if one could see it.

    Very good food. Great server. Friendly staff. My one observation is that it was so dark many patrons had to pull out their phone light to read the menu and the bill.

    We ordered Christmas Tamales from Libertad and I decided to take my husband there for brunch and to pick up the tamales. I'd been there twice before with girlfriends for brunch. Once again it was outstanding, amazing food and very friendly service. We had the Pan de Avo, Panqueques, plus sides of Crispy Potatoes (the crispiest EVER!!!) and Bacon (with a lovely drizzle of maple syrup on them). Everything was just perfect! Will definitely be back again and again.

    We love Libertad. The food is excellent with bold flavors. Drinks are also fantastic. This time we sat in the enclosed patio. It was a little chilly. We could have used a heat lamp a little closer or a blanket. We strongly recommend this restaurant if you have not visited.
