Lechon is a South American dining experience that seamlessly combines the fiery cooking of Argentina, Chile and Patagonia, along with creative inspiration of the chef. Enjoy perfectly charred 28-day dry-aged ribeye, grilled octopus with chorizo, housemade piquillo pepper and pork empanadas, slow roasted lechon, refreshing ceviches and smoked bone marrow.

Executive Chef Jaco Smith consistently pushes the boundaries on traditional Latin fare by incorporating wood-fired flavors into his cuisine while boasting a view of the Willamette River that few Portland restaurants can offer. Smith comes from a large family of cattle, sheep and grain farmers. He started cooking at a young age in his mother’s kitchen. His favorite childhood memories include the tastes of dulce de leche, flan and grilled breads, reminiscent of South American flavors and commonly found on South African kitchen tables.

We haven’t been for awhile and Lechon was and is still one of the best restaurants and experiences. Food and drinks were amazing and service was 1000 percent worth going out and reminds you that old school good service while eating out still exists.

Our server was rude and did not make eye contact or check in on drinks or water. He offered no suggestions and there was a 45 minute lag in food arriving and he never checked in or acknowledged the delay. All staff including host seemed angry and like they did not want to be there. Food was mostly really good. But overall vibe was a downer and meal was expensive. This was meant to be a fun birthday dinner and it fell flat.

The salads and bone marrow were incredibly delicious and flavorful, and “What The Chef Is Drinking” is our favorite cocktail in PDX. Sophie was fantastic and the service here is always great!
