It was good to experience and check off the bucket list. The piano was lovely, but the tea didn’t feel like high tea, just a tea in the restaurant. The sandwiches are extremely small/miniature and just ok. The tax ($38) on top of the bill and $60 on gratuity (while we spent most of the time waiting on the waiter) is in my opinion outrageous. That’s almost $100 just on those two bill items. I will be happily going back to more classical High Tea Rooms.

The Fairmont’s Gingerbread tea is slipping a bit - we’ve been coming for about 10 years, and we were disappointed this year in the rushed service, the scaled-back entertainment, and a new and stingy rule that only one glass of champagne is included in the price. The cost of this brunch is now quite exceeds the value received.

We reserved 7:30pm did not get seated till 8pm. It took long for server to come and serve us. He was so busy running around . Not his fault, I guessed they short handed. We weren’t given plates to share our salad and fries. I’m not sure if that’s how they usually go. Finally we got our food. I couldn’t eat my pasta. I tried the pasta is not fully cooked, supposed to have mushrooms, it was minimal. My husband ordered the chicken, he said it was dry, I tasted it and I agree. But the flavoring was good. I complained to the manager and took off the entrees from our bill. I have eaten at Tonga room before and that was a good experience. I wanted to try the Laurel Court this time. I would suggest not to go to Fairmont for dinner during the holidays. To chaotic. Short staffed!

Not very good customer service at all. We pretty much had to ask for menus, waters (for our waters to be refilled), and our cocktails few times. The food came out pretty fast, and it was somewhat palatable but def not worth it $478. I don’t think I will ever come back.

What a disappointment! I have never written a bad review before, but cannot help comment here to save fellow diners from the experience we had. I took my family of six to stay at the Fairmont for an early Christmas. We stayed in the Napoleon 2-bedroom suite, and I made my reservation at Laurel Court a good two months ahead. When we arrived for dinner, my grandkids all dressed up for a “fancy” dinner, we were shown to an out of the way “rental” table, way too big our party. There wasn’t a single table decoration, and our chairs were the stacking variety of banquet chairs. I asked to be moved to a regular table or booth, and was told they had brought in extra tables to accommodate the crowds and that they could not move us to a nice table. The server was great, the food okay, but shame on the Fairmont for offering such an inadequate experience and with no warning that things would be so meager. Our hefty bill did not even begin to reflect to poor experience.

Overcooked food and side was served cold. Extremely overpriced with very small menu selection. Not impressed. Fairmont can do much better.

Went for High Tea. Extremely expense for what amounts to 5 stale bites of a sandwich, a pot of tea, and some ok sweets. It was so loud we had to yell to hear each other which is not a pleasant High Tea experience.

Brunch was bad cooking, had few selection, and took long for trays to be brought out. The chef was unprepared for the high number of customers on Saturday morning. Not a good look for the Fairmont brand.

Very disappointing Saturday breakfast buffet before Christmas (dec 21st). The food offering was not anything special, they were out of many things at 11AM and long line waiting for pancakes which were hard to get. Surely they knew it would be busy and they've been doing itvs long time. Was far from special. I'd expected more.
