LaSalle Grill, a modern American Bistro featuring steaks and chops and seafood cooked over a live hardwood fire, is born of the dream of experienced restaurateur Mark McDonnell. Like the restaurant’s namesake, noted French explorer, Robert de LaSalle, McDonnell set out to explore the uncharted waters of downtown South Bend, Indiana. We are particularly adept in executing difficult events in unusual locations. As founder Mark McDonnell likes to say, "difficult is not impossible". It's the little details that count. They make the difference between "a nice event" and "a great party!" At LaSalle Catering & Events we pay attention to all of the little details of your event ... the preparations, presentations and above all the service.

LaSalle Grill offers 2 private dining rooms. The larger accommodates from 15 to 80 guests. The smaller accommodates up to 22 guests. Both are located on the 2nd floor.

For the last decade I have rated the LaSalle Grill as South Bend's top restaurant. But last night was a disaster. My wife and I made reservations in response to its announcement of a special prime rib weekend. We made reservations for 7:00, arrived on time, and ordered the prime rib, only to be told that, because of a high number of walk-in guests, they were out of prime rib. Other than lame apologies, we were offered nothing to mitigate the disaster. So, we left. We may or may not return in the future. We were more disappointed by the management's response to the situation than the fact that they had not anticipated the response to their prime rib special.
