We ordered half a dozen or so small plates for the table to share, and every single one of them was outstanding. The larger dish that we had - squid ink cacarecce - is a new menu item since the last time we dined at Lark, and was unbelievably delicious. Creme brulee cake was the winner for dessert. Our server was very attentive, paced the courses well, and made sure we were out in plenty of time to attend a performance we had tickets for. Chef John stopped by the table to chat for a few minutes as well. We really couldn't have asked for better food or service. Can't wait for our next visit to Lark.

The food simply wasn’t good. For the price, it was certainly not worth it. The steak was rubbery and a rare when I ordered medium rare. The salad was bitter. The cake was dry. The service was rushed and inattentive. It was lovely ambiance and staff was certainly nice, but this was not a fine dining experience by any standard.

Lark is a very nice spot for special occasions. The service is outstanding - prompt, knowledgeable, and unobtrusive. The location is a bit challenging for driving and parking, although our car's navigation system got us there just fine. The food was good, but not commensurate with the prices in my opinion. The menu offerings were limited but carefully conceived and artistically presented. As seems usual these days, asking for a steak to be cooked "medium" got me a blood-rare serving of otherwise good meat. I used to request "medium-rare", but I fear that would get me steak tartare. We like to bring our own wine for special occasions (all of us are wine collectors), so Lark's two-bottle limit with a $50/bottle corkage charge is a turn-off. Given the location, the prices, and the corkage policy, I doubt that we'll return to Lark anytime soon.

Everything was good, not great. Service was professional, not necessarily friendly. The most personality I saw was from the girl who brought me 3 of my 4 courses. Every course had the right idea, it just wasn't executed to the level of great. The jalapeno on the hamachi was overbearing, but the idea of a *touch* of spice was correct. If you're going to put a fried shiso chip, salt it. The foie gras dish was amazing! Texture, taste, all there. The accompaniments were great. Elk chop itself was great, nice sear and very tender. The savory bread pudding with it was both salty and bland. I didn't like the texture. The elk was aggressively seasoned, but with the salty accompaniments it was too much. I left most of the veg. The raw strips of acorn squash were a nice break from the richness of the rest of the dish and a good idea. The creme brulee cake was good. I mean I find dessert often feels like an afterthought at many fine dining places. There was nothing wrong with it, but it didn't blow my mind. The cornbread crumble was nice texturely, but I always think of cornbread with BBQ so it was just a weird food memory colliding for me! I think if the service was more friendly, I'd come back to try it again. As a side note, my Uber asked me about it, and when I said the service was aloof, he said he comes for lunch there and gets the same vibe.

The food was not good. The potato rosti was greasy, the fish overcooked and the Brussels sprouts flavorless. The service was mediocre at best. We were continually interrupted with questions about removing plates and the staff was uninformed about the menu. We have dined at Lark many times over the years and have always enjoyed it. This time was disappointing

We left hungry, after coming here for years for special occasions we were excited for a nice dinner out to celebrate a special occasion. The food was lovely and we still love Lark but we were both disappointed leaving after three appetizers two mains and a dessert and still being both pretty hungry the portions were incredibly small for the mains probably won’t be coming back anytime soon. For the amount of money we spent for dinner we should’ve definitely left full!

This is a sophisticated and elegant venue with attentive service, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and delightful presentations (our table had the tasting menu). We selected wines by the glass and were impressed by the selections. We’ll be back.
