I’ve been dining at this lovely restaurant since it first opened and it’s always a great experience, especially the ambiance and service. This was the 2nd year in a row we chose l’ardoise for NYE, it’s a special spot to bring in a new year. The food was good but a few things were off. We’ve found this is typical for holiday pre-fixe meals due to maximizing table turn and more or less mass producing fewer items. The little caviar puff was stale and dry. The profiteroles desert had the same issue- dry stale pastry. Mains (duck and sea bass) were delicious, starters a mixed bag (the ravioli was superb but pate was very bland). We’ll be back for a regular menu night soon

The food is wonderful. I had the brussel sprout salad and the filet mignon. My waitress, I believe her name is Eva, she is so wonderful and made my dining experience very pleasant and comfortable. Thank you !

The duck confit was delicious as were the potatoes and salad that came with it. Our “Maitre d’ Eva was wonderful. The service from all of the staff was exceptional.

They sat us down promptly, recited the specials, as well as handed us our menus. The wine and appetizers were great. The environment was ideal for a reunion with old friends. The entire experience was great from start to finish.

Iconic vibes and classic French food…it’s rustic and chill and exceptional food. Lardoise is a neighborhood classic.

RUN to eat here. The best meal I’ve had in SF after 7 years. Better than Quince, Rich Table, Osito, Earnest, Saison. I’m not even kidding and yes, I know those are different cusisines. The food is divine. Authentic French food and service (if they liked Americans).
