Chef Bryan Voltaggio found inspiration in a former Frederick car dealership showroom and transformed it into an open, airy space, with a long counter fronting an open kitchen serving modern American casual meals. MA for Marco, NA for Naomi, his daughter, and LU for Lucia, his wife. Manalu's goal is to bring a taste of Italy and a touch of Naples in the town, by serving authentic Italian cuisine and the original pizza Napoletana cooked in a brick oven.     Had drinks and dinner on a Tuesday evening. Everything was top notch. Creative cocktail list and great service at the bar.Dinner was excellent. My wife and I had the ribeye and the Prime Rib. Both delicious. Again service was excellent. Our writer (unfortunately I forget his name because he deserves a shout out) went above and beyond. We had left over Prime Rib and we were staying at the hotel (The Visitation). He had a mini fridge delivered to our room, without our asking,so we could take the leftovers. All in all a great experience. Also a terrific happy hour.

    Our goto place in Frederick closed in the past year and so we have been trying places that are new to us. We enjoyed drinks and lunch at JoJo’s today. Love the exposed brick in the dining rooms and the bar and it was festively decorated. Each of our sandwiches was good and the hand cut fries were so good that I skipped the ketchup! Also enjoyed the specialty cocktails. Save room – – the red velvet Smith Island cake is delicious!!
