Come dine in this beautifully restored Uptown restaurant on Magazine Street and enjoy James Beard Award Winning Chef Justin Devillier's contemporary Louisiana Cuisine. The La Petite Grocery name pays homage to the history of its home, a building that’s stood for more than a century. The original structure was built in the late 1800s and called the Central Tea, Coffee and Butter Depot. In 1908, a fire devastated the space and it was transformed into a full service grocery store. Later it was most notably a fine foods and butcher shop, VonderHaar’s Fine Foods until 1982. When La Petite Grocery opened in March of 2004, they similarly aspired to provide the neighborhood with exotic teas, locally roasted coffee, and fresh produce. By doing this, we hope to provide a dining experience that evokes nostalgia of old New Orleans. Reservations are preferred.

Outstanding experience all around. Our server was friendly without being intrusive. The food was AMAZING (every bit worth the price). Our server went over and above for one of us in our party with a dairy allergy. The “Bananas Foster” show was a delight and informative. A wonderfully memorable time.

Superior did an excellent job accommodating our party of 10 at the last minute. We had 2 December 23rd birthdays to celebrate and our waitress was fantastic in getting us what we needed. Thanks for taking our big party on such late notice and we will be back!!

Food and service were exceptional. We had the ceviche’ and lobster ravioli appetizers then ordered Hallibut with scallops and shrimp risotto — the signature dish — and the Parmesan-crusted sheepshead with lemon butter and browned capers served either asparagus as our main courses. Everything was perfectly prepared! We ordered 3 desserts to top it all off: the salty malty ice cream pie, the white chocolate bread pudding and the chocolate mouse in a dark chocolate dome with raspberry gelee’. Perfect evening. Except for learning at the end of the night that our parking would not be validated. We were not told to bring the parking ticket to the front desk at the beginning of the night. If you go to GW Finn’s and expect to get parking validated, do not pay the garage when you park (despite the fact that all of the signs in the garage and the boots on cars are somewhat threatening in there). Instead, take your unpaid parking garage ticket directly to the front desk at the restaurant for validation with a picture of your license plate. This was the only sour note of our evening. Otherwise, it was perfect!

My husband and I come to Antoine’s every time we are in New Orleans (our top vacation getaway choice). We’ve done brunches and dinners and have never experienced an ounce of disappointment when dining here. Every meal has been superb! The staff is always phenomenal - they are always going above and beyond - and the atmosphere is so lovely. A must-go, for sure.

Everything about this meal was incredible. There were 6 of us and we never even made it to the Large Dishes. We all shared most of the Salatim, then ordered several of the Hummus Dishes and finally ordered a few of the Small Plates. Our waitress was perfectly attentive, our drinks were always filled and the Pita was freshly made and the plate was filled to our hearts content. Would DEFINITELY recommend Shaya.
