Napa Valley Bistro was opened in 2013 by chefs Bernardo Ayala and Ernesto Martinez, (also co-owner of Market in St. Helena). Their friendship and working relationship, which has lasted over 20 years was so successful, they decided to pool their resources and stake a claim in downtown Napa's expanding culinary scene. Their aim was to create their own version of classic world cuisine in a comfortable space where family and community could gather for any occasion. The twist is evident in the menus, which sample fare from around the globe.     This is an excellent choice of restaurant in Napa (I know there’s plenty of options around). The service was friendly and well-paced (attentive but not overbearing or rushed). The food was delicious. We ordered a few different salads and starters, all of which were reportedly very nice based on my party’s reactions. The stars of the show were the meats, including the Filet Mignon (cooked perfectly) and Rack of Lamb. The sides were just as impressive, and the Hash Browns can’t be missed! Finally, we finished with dessert. We had the seasonal fruit crisp and bread pudding, both of which were fitting endings to a lovely meal.
