- RRonVIPVirginia •41 reviews5.0Dined on Jan 17, 2025We had a wonderful experience at the Skyline. We had an early dinner, as we had tickets to a show later that evening. It was warm enough that we were able to eat out on the covered patio with the fireplaces going to just a bit of heat - great ambiance and beautiful views. Although not what I would call extensive, the wine/drink menu was impressive with some excellent choices for both beer, cocktails, and wine by the glass and bottle. We started with the crispy pork belly as an appetizer and were not disappointed. It was enough for the 3 of us to have several bites - the sweetness of the orange glaze offered a subtle but delicious enhancement. We had 3 different entrées: the stuffed trout, seared sea scallops over risotto, and the pork ribeye; all were excellent. The addition of goat cheese to the vegetables that came with the pork ribeye added a unique flavor that was delicious, particularly when mixed with the sorghum glaze on the pork. We finished by sharing an apple crisp, which was loaded with apples that retained good texture, was well spiced and had a great crisp topping. My only complaint would have been the graham cracker crust that was a bit dry and bitter. I would have preferred a flakey pie crust, or perhaps a shortbread crust if anything. Except for a brief period at the beginning when our waiter "disappeared" for several minutes, the service was professional and attentive. Our waiter also was very knowledgeable regarding the various menu items and made some good suggestions when asked. I would definitely recommend The Skyline.More infoSkylinePrice: Expensive• American• Lynchburg•4.7
