Freddie Paul’s Steakhouse is just the beginning of a new generation. This heritage began back in the 1940’s when Fred & Amelia Saliba opened the very first restaurant in the Saliba family. Although Brian wasn’t with his grandparents in the beginning, he was raised under the careful training of his father and mother as they carried on the family tradition.Because of this training, Brian began to love the restaurant business and pursued a career in the culinary arts. The initiation of his training began at O.S.U. in the college of Hotel & Restaurant Administration. During this time, Brian was able to train as an intern under renown chefs at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs where he earned the right and inspiration to advance. As Brian progressed in his training, his desire to become a restaurant owner continuously increased. They have now begun the new generation of restaurants in the Saliba family, Freddie Paul’s Steakhouse.

This is our second visit. I left a review for our first visit. As before, the food overall was good, but there were a few misses. We started with the Calmari and Nueske's Thick-Cut Bacon. Both were a big hit with our table of four. Woodfire Grille really knows how to do starters. My husband's second course was the Wedge Salad (with a substitution of Balsamic Vinegar Dressing for the Blue Cheese Dressing). He really likes this salad. My daughter and I split the French Onion Soup. It was OK, but tasted as if it was from a can. In addition, there was only a tiny sprinkle of Gruyère cheese (i.e. under 10 shreds). The menu indicated it had flaky croutons, but it really was just a crustless piece of toast floating around. Both my daughter and I agreed we would not order it again. My son and I ordered identical Mini Mignons for our entree. Both of us requesting medium rare. My son's was cooked to perfection. Mine was way overcooked and came out as well done. It makes me wonder if the order was taken down incorrectly since I would have thought the two Mini Mignon dishes would have been fired at the same time? My husband's entree was the Pacific Halibut. He enjoyed it immensely. My daughter ordered the Crab Cake (an appetizer) and Mac N' Cheese (a side) as her entree. She hardly touched the Mac N' Cheese as it really seemed like just plain pasta. Just as with the French Onion Soup, there was hardly any cheese. The chef seems to loath parting with his Gruyère cheese and will only sprinkle a couple of pieces of shredded cheese on each of the dishes that call for it. Service was excellent. Our waitress was very good and attentive. In my last review, I complained about the extra large table leg at the booths. I requested something different and the hostess delivered. The half table/half booth do not have this horrible table leg and instead havetwo small legs. Very acceptable. We will go back again, but I am starting to learn what to order and what not to order.

If you haven’t been to Kats you should go. If you have been then you already know. This is the best steak you will find in a hundred mile radius of Lamont and I can’t say that I’ve had better service or atmosphere anywhere else. Hands down the best

The food was good. Service was excellent. I felt that $14 for a house glass of wine was too high. I was offended with a $2. charge for a split plate was ridiculous. The kitchen did not split the plate and in fact did not even offer an extra plate. We shared steak and lobster. I used my salad plate for the lobster. Really a pet peeve of mine. However we will be back.
