Restaurants near Old Hecks Shopping Center

Food was very good. Diverse and not exactly cohesive. Duck confit sitting next to a menu of burgers. But that is probably a good thing for where it is located. Anyone can find something on this menu. There is a full bar as well. Ambience also is a bit two-tone. Tablecloths and cloth napkins, but it doesn’t shake the “you are in a hotel” vibe. So not upscale, but certainly not diner. We would eat there again. Among the three of us we had Skirt steak with collards which was excellent. And two different burgers, both cooked to desired temp, and very good. Tater tots and onion rings were very good as well. Service was friendly and attentive. Go with confidence but be ready for casual atmosphere.

The Farmhouse is consistenly good. The little nooks give privacy and help with noise. You can easily have a conversation. The onion rings are crisy and salty. My steak was cooked perfectly and the baked potato delicious. Thanks for another great meal.

Our meals were delicious. Our server, Ray in the wine bar was outstanding. He’s so knowledgeable about his wines, very gracious and his table side manner is delightful. Dining out would be more fun if the world had more guys like Ray working in restaurants!

This is one of the best restaurants in south west Virginia!
