The first Oven Restaurant, located in the heart of downtown Lincoln, has been around since 1988 and owned/operated by a dedicated family of chefs who have been creating Indian cuisine for over twenty seven years. The Oven Restaurants specialize in Northern Indian Cuisine which is known for its rich colors, flavor profiles and a unique style of cooking in a clay oven, called the Tandoor. Chicken, shrimp and lamb marinate for several hours in a yogurt and spice mixture and placed on skewers while various breads are being hand made by our chefs fresh each day. The skewers and breads are then placed in the tandoor over an open flame where breads are cooked to perfection and the rich flavors are sealed in to ensure tenderness and quality of the meat.     The person that took care of us was Maddie . She was she there when we needed her she seemed to have a check on us radar turned on. I ordered a Delmonico Ribeye medium rare and when I cut into it I called her back to our table and asked her to take a look at my steak. I could tell she was a little worried about what I wanted. I told her this steak was a nearly perfect medium rare ribeye steak for her future reference. Excell service, care and food all the way around. Thank-you very much.

    Friendly staff, amazing tastes, nice ambiance. There is a large selection of different dishes. Our server was helpful with recommendations. The food tasted amazing. We were stuffed but couldn't stop eating! Nice selection of drinks from the bar as well. Perfect ambiance where we could talk and still not be overpowered by other tables. REALLY enjoyed our experience!

    We come every Friday before Husker games to listen to the Cornhusker Marching Band-Zipline Pep Band play, drink a Dear Old Nebraska beer (in a souvenir Husker glass) and celebrate with family, friends and CMB. Our favorite appetizers include the brussel spouts, egg rolls and charcuterie. My favorite entree is the cedar planked salmon, I'm usually too full for desert. Great food and great atmosphere
