In 1998, Buddy Guindon, his wife Katie, and his brother Kenny opened Katie's Seafood Market in Galveston, Texas. For more than 20 years now, Katie's Seafood Market has provided the highest quality of products available to its customers. The majority of seafood comes from local fishermen and shrimpers, including Red Snapper, Grouper, Golden Tile Fish, Flounder, Oysters, Shrimp, and Blue Crabs. A producer contacted Guindon in the hopes of doing a reality show about his family business. In 2015, the reality show 'Big Fish Texas' came to life on National Geographic. As a supporter of the local economy, In September of 2019, Buddy opened Katie’s Seafood House, next to the market. Katie’s seafood market supplies the restaurant with all fresh seafood. This was our first time trying this place while we are here on vacation. Our server Joe was outstanding. The best service we have ever had . We ordered the Smoked boudin balls, Seafood Ceviche , and Prime Rib. 10/10 Also , there was a server named Landon there as well that was next to our section. He was awesome as well.

The entire meal was outstanding, Surf and Turf was great, perapred perfectly. Often the of this entree can be on the small side. The tail was 8-10 oz and cooked to perfection, not over cooked. The Ribeye cooked to an ideal med-rare and so large a section went home, something that seldom happens. The stuffed chicken was also great. The best part was the start, oyster Rockerfellers the best I’ve ever had and I order them often. Service was exceptional, from being attentive without intrusive, to making a great wine suggestion.
