Cafe Martorano is the best Italian restaurant in the world. I’m including Italy in that. I’ve been to Italy over 60 times and eaten everywhere from the top restaurants with chefs like Massimo Bottura to famous local spots all over the country. I love Italy but Steve Martorano’s South Philly flare makes for the best Italian food anywhere on the planet. I do not say that lightly. The best. Period. Every dish is perfect. The staff are all long term employees who are happy and truly feel they are part of a family, it’s not a slogan it’s the reality. I love this place. It is situated overlooking the beach and Atlantic Ocean. It is surrounded by tropical vegetation and laced with paths to the beach. They have a great variety of seating options; all are good! They have both cozy inside nooks, open air windowed areas and completely open shaded upstairs decks. They also have a nice bar and a centrally located fireplace. They have an excellent food and bar menu with daily specials all at reasonable prices. The staff are pleasant and good at their jobs. You won’t be disappointed.

Food and service were outstanding! We had the yellowtail with onion crust. Phenomenal is not good enough! One person had the Lamb Chops which were very good but slightly over cooked. Salads were very good too! A little pricey but well worth it! Loved it! Will definitely be back!

Outside seating looked wonderful, but rain kept everyone inside. Not nearly the same ambiance, but great food and excellent server.
