Mizuno Japanese Restaurant is a family-run business that first opened in 1996. Located in Virginia Beach, Mizuno is embedded in a seafood hotspot, only 25 miles south of the Eastern Shore of Virginia and the Chesapeake Bay, and 158 miles south of Hatteras, North Carolina. Chef-owner Wataru Mizuno feels blessed to be a sushi chef in a culinary trifecta like Virginia Beach. Mizuno and his team take advantage of the restaurant's access to local sources by artfully composing daily specials that feature fresh shrimp, yellowfin tuna, bluefin tuna, flounder, blue crabs and oysters, to name a few. The hook's simple. Mizuno resists complicated sauces and excessive ingredients. Instead, he flavors scallops from the world famous Chesapeake Bay, adding nothing more, at times, than a dash of citrus and a pinch of sea salt.     Mike our server was great- some large groups so took awhile to get offered another cocktail etc but he was doing great considering. Lobster pasta was great and scallops were best I've had in Va Beach. All around a great night for my birthday dinner with friends.

    Beautifully decorated for the holidays, Becca was packed with holiday diners. I had the she crab soup, which was the best I ever had, I also had the fall harvest salad with beets, kale, spiced pistachios and goat cheese. Both were delicious. My fellow diners all had the smoked Turkey club, also very good although the toasted bread made it difficult to eat. Service was a bit slow but perhaps they didn’t have enough help or it could been our server who was not very forthcoming. All in all a great experience and will certainly dine there again!

    what a festive evening with scrumptious food (scallops rock and grilled pork). And a crime brûlée sampler! Just as yummy was the live music celebrating the season! A wonderful -lace to eat well; relax and enjoy a fine cocktail!

    Everything was delicious! Salmon sashimi, firecracker cauliflower, jumbo scallops, ribeye, green tea tiramisu & a chocolate martini. I'd 1000% recommend. The scallops were like butter!
