This restaurant has brought the flavours of a top-class Tokyo French restaurant to Hiroshima. Ozawa French Restaurant is on the ground floor of the Oriental Hotel Hiroshima, on the beautiful tree-lined Peace Boulevard. Chef Takahiko Ozawa has long striven to create French food which will appeal to the Japanese palate and has based his Tokyo restaurant on the concept of simplicity. In Hiroshima, the rich local produce is used to create something more sophisticated. The overriding OZAWA concept is simplicity. Butter and cream are avoided as much as possible and great importance is attached to maximizing the flavours of the ingredients, so as to enable people of all ages to enjoy their food down to the last bite. Lobster Chawanmushi (egg custard), simmered slowly for hours, has been a signature dish for over 20 years. The Ozawa spirit is imbued in every single dish. The Ozawa motto since the Tokyo restaurant opened has been to make the guests happy.
