The Palazzo Della Gherardesca was unusual for its time in that its main interior space, the atrium, was originally designed as a secondary courtyard. Now covered with a glass roof, like the courtyard Lobby, the Hotel’s Atrium Bar occupies a vast sun-lit and decorative space, serving lunch, dinner, and the typical Italian aperitif, afternoon tea, desserts, coffee and cocktails. Unbelievable steak! They bring out the different varieties of steak so you can see the marbling and make your selection. The steak has a perfect crust and the smell from the charcoal grill is magnificent. Gratin potatoes with truffle are highly recommended. Deserts were nothing special. Service was great. The only negative is the background music. It was 80’s elevator music and took away from the ambiance.
