Michael Anthony’s is the penultimate culinary experience! We first enjoyed our blessed times here in this amazing restaurant when we lived in HHI from 2004-2008. Our favorite then and now, again during this current visit. Wait staff: highly customer-focused, present, courteous, knowledgeable, helpful, and very capable, able to take high-level care even during busy moments. Manager checked in on us and ensured that our expectations were being wildly exceeded! Chef: scrumptious butternut squash soup with sausage was light, exquisite, and unforgettably delicious! My wife’s go-to favorite in all restaurants - the evening recipe salmon, stood out, cooked to her exact requirements & was her all-time favorite. My lasagna was extraordinary. This is one of the best places to eat on the Island. The food was awesome! Our server was very attentive and had a great personality. Everything we ate was perfectly prepared.

My husband ordered the duck & he said his was cooked perfectly - medium rare. The scalloped potatoes & veggies (green beans & carrots) were also delicious. He cleaned his plate. I had the smoked salmon appetizer which was good, not much different than what can be found in Costco or ordering online - it came with a lovely horseradish & dill sauce. I also had the crab, avocado appetizer which was more interesting. We had an early reservation which is what I prefer to eating later, but there were people waiting by the time we left around 6:30.

Relish Cafe is a very casual, comfortable spot. While the ambiance is not upscale, the food and service delivered were absolutely top notch. Dishes are of Asian influence and, on our visit, we sampled Dumplings, General Tso's Chicken, Shrimp and Grits, Calamari, and Bang Bang Shrimp. We also had a very good bottle of Rioja for $24. The value is great. What keeps it from being 5 stars overall is the ambiance. Recommend giving it a try.
