Amen Street is one of those restaurants that you hear about being great so you decide to go. Then you try it and you understand the excitement that someone has on their face when they talk about it. The waiter was very knowledgeable in describing each dish and checked in with us enough, but not too much. The food was delicious; I said I would be dreaming of the ratatouille served alongside the fresh catch (flounder for me) and the next day I’m still craving the flavors of the dish. The ambiance was wonderful - slightly dim with quiet music playing to fill the lulls in conversation without overdoing either. I enjoyed a table close to a window and felt no draft, which I have experienced at other places, so this was my small appreciation.

Had an excellent time at this place! The food was fantastic, and the back room with its beautiful lighting and ambiance was the perfect spot to relax. The service was top-notch, making the whole experience even better. The atmosphere was lively yet comfortable, and it's an ideal escape right off the busy King Street. Highly recommend!

Great food and atmosphere. We had the peel and eat shrimp, cornbread, and roasted oysters to start. All were excellent. Burger, fig and prosciutto flatbread, and shrimp Louis salad next which were all also excellent. Would happily come back next time we are in the area.

We had an incredible dinner at O-Ku before a show at the Charleston Music Hall. The service was attentive and personable. Everything we ordered was perfectly composed and seasoned. For appetizers, we enjoyed dumplings and edamame. For the main course we shared a scallop crudo special and two sushi rolls. For desserts we had a chocolate bar (do not remember the exact item). We were very pleased with all of the food. I will add that I had a drink (the name escapes me), but it was essentially a version of a Japanese old-fashioned. I could have had a few too many of those. If you are looking for an excellent meal for a special night, this place will not disappoint.
