Beautiful building, excellent ambiance. Tasty fusion food. Good drinks. Very friendly service. Worth a visit for sure.

The food was fantastic. We also tried two alcoholic drinks; they were fine but nothing special. The only thing we felt could improve was the habanero chili sauce. It didn’t have any spice at all, which was surprising. As a museum meant to preserve Yucatecan gastronomy, the sauces should reflect the true flavors, including the expected heat. None of the salsas were spicy, and even we, who rarely eat spicy food, could finish them without a problem. The food was excellent overall, but the sauces could be more authentic to the traditional flavors.

It's a bummer they have a "smokers area", makes half the non-smoking place smell like an ashtray. Other than that, best steak I ever had in Merida.

I have been going to Kinich for about a quarter of a century. The food has consistently been excellent, the service impeccable and in an ambiance unsurpassed in Magical Izamal.

El Lagarto de Oro is a very good spot. Chill & welcoming vibe, friendly service (Thank You Carol), good beer list, and a delicious menu. We enjoyed their Salpicon de Chicarra con Pulpo a la Longaniza.
