Inspired by long days on the Gulf, late nights on the ranch and the colorful creations of our abuela, our family's Kitchen & Cantina showcases the rich foods and traditions we grew up with on both sides of the border. Nothing matches the flavor of food grilled over mesquite. Try wood-fired Texas quail swaddled in homemade tortillas, jalapeno rellanos stuffed with house-made chorizo and sizzling, family-style parrilladas - huge mixed platters of wild game and fresh vegetables, topped with pico de gallo and queso fresco - a unique spin on Houston barbeque. Our days begin roasting chilies and tomatoes, rolling fresh tortillas in our bakery and wringing every last drop of Ruby Red grapefruit for cocktails. We hand-grind our own sausage and hand-trim every ounce of meat in our butchery, then anoint it with the savory seasonings and marinades we've honed over generations.     Our server, Maurice, was excellent. I appreciated the cadence with which he checked in on our table but, more importantly, his recommendations were outstanding. I do not think we would have ever considered the octopus but he was right by describing it as the best in the city. Otherwise, our table had a steak special, two different pizzas and the Vingole pasta. Besides the four cheese pizza not listing the hot honey on the menu, we all loved our meals, including the sweet panna cotta for my birthday.

    Definitely check out Drake’s! It was an amazing experience the food the drinks… Wow! Our server Charles made such great recommendations and wine choices that paired so well with the steak! If you dine here ask for him you will not be disappointed!

    From the moment we walked in until we walked out just phenomenal service. We went for our anniversary and the hostess told us happy anniversary and the waiter kept commenting on our anniversary- even remembered how many years we’ve been married! Everyone was so attentive and the food was OUTSTANDING. The waiter we had was by far the best waiter we have ever had (at any dining experience!) we will definitely be back.
