Dine in one of our custom designed Igloos By the Sea at The Coast Guard House. There is an igloo rental fee for $100 for three hours. Each igloo is outfitted with a Bluetooth speaker, fireplace and heater. However, we do recommend dressing warmly and/or in layers. Our full menu is available for your enjoyment. We can not guarantee any specific igloo. Igloo reservations can be cancelled in inclement weather. There is a credit hold for $20 per person to complete your reservation.     What a GEM! First time there for a weekday day date with my BF. He planned it all as a surprise and all did was use open table to get a spot right before we needed it. Oceanside view from the main dining room. Above average service. Food was delicious and cooked to absolute perfection. Wine pairing was on point. Saffron mussels, beet salad with sword fish and TWO desserts and hot chocolate to go for our ride back to Hartford. The outdoor igloos were available but it was 20 degrees so book one in the Sun, if you rent one. They have a FIREPLACE, table, pillows and are decorated.

    We met up with a childhood friend of mine and his girlfriend for a wonderful lunch on a snowy Saturday afternoon. The host greeted us with enthusiasm, and our waiter was a pro. We never felt rushed… there’s a lot to catch up on after 50 years! The food was absolutely delicious, and our table was in a wonderful spot overlooking the bay and the gentle snowfall. It’s hard to imagine a better Saturday afternoon in Newport. We even celebrated our waiter’s recent US Citizenship after living here for 20 years. It was awesome!

    Wonderful dinner at Winfield's. Highly recommend the cod, and the salmon entrees, as well as the seasonal pumpkin cheesecake, and the berry cobbler with homemade sage ice cream. Julie, our server, was perfect. Great conversational dialog. Only 'negative', and was minor, the Tuna Tartare appetizer was somewhat bland, and the wonton triangle 'chips' were slightly overcooked. Could have used a bit more spice, and 1 or 2 more chips. Still, Winfield's is one of our favorites on Block Island.
