Built in 1880, The Inn was at one time a brothel, until it was raided by federal officers. The Inn was a favorite site of cowboys and teamsters, who appreciated the fine foods and jovial atmosphere.Over 100 years later, the Inn at Tres Pinos is now a San Benito County Historical Landmark, carefully restored by owner, Mike Howard. The ambiance is intimate, rustic, and elegant. It’s country with a touch of class, and decorated in a style that is a reflection of Mike’s personal interest. Mike's grandfather taught him the the art of fly-fishing, and every year the family still fishes together at the Big Wood River in Sun Valley, Idaho. Mike married Mary along the Big Wood River in 2010, and the Inn has become a true family affair. Mike’s philosophy is “Keep it fresh and keep it simple.” His staff is personally hand picked and will make every effort to meet your expectations. The Inn at Tres Pinos is the only four-star restaurant in San Benito Country.

This was an amazing experience. Fabulous setting overlooking the Pacific Ocean on Big Sur. The salad was prepared with freshly sourced greens and vegetables topped off with a home made ranch dressing. It was great. The carrot soup was smooth and elegantly topped off with fresh chopped apple pieces. The fresh striped Pacific Bass was seared to perfection and the flat iron steak was tender and delicious. The apple crunch top desert was exquisite with crema on top accompanied by a slice of dried apple. This is a can't miss experience for the amazing setting and superb food and service.

Our server, Michelle, was there when we needed her. She listened to our preferences & made our evening drama free. Good job. Our dinners & cocktails were well-prepared & delicious. This is our 2nd time at The Inn at Tres Pinos. Both times were perfect. A long way for us to come, but worth it.

Santos the owner does a fabulous job with food. The Pappardelle with boar ragu is a fav. Portions are smaller than usual and costly BUT the food flavors and attention to detail are wonderful. Ivan our waiter from Bulgaria is knowledgeable and an outstanding person to serve. The burrata crostini with caramelized fennel is a must....Il Cortile does not disappoint....Linda G from Paso Robles....
